Privacy Policy
In short: Washbay keeps your shop's data on your devices and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud. We don't collect it, see it, sell it or track you. There are no ads and no analytics.
What Washbay stores
Everything you enter to run your shop: washes and bills, customer names, phone numbers and vehicle plates, plate photos you take, products and stock, staff, attendance, salary and payments, expenses and day-close counts, and your settings (shop name, phone, address, UPI ID, prices, printer).
This data is stored on your iPhone or iPad. If Sync with iCloud is on (Settings › iCloud), it is also stored in your private iCloud database, provided by Apple under your Apple Account, so it appears on your other devices. Only you can access it; the developer cannot.
Camera and photos
When you photograph a number plate, Washbay reads it on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The photo is not uploaded anywhere by Washbay; it is saved with the wash on your device (and in your iCloud if sync is on).
Bluetooth and local network
Used only to find and print to your own receipt printer. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Network requests the app makes
Apart from iCloud sync (handled by Apple), Washbay makes only these requests:
- App Store version check — when you open Settings › About › Developer, Washbay asks Apple's public App Store lookup service for the latest version and release date. It sends the app's bundle identifier and your country code, nothing about you or your shop.
- Subscriptions — Washbay Pro is bought and managed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive no card or payment details.
UPI payments
If you add a UPI ID, Washbay shows a QR code containing your UPI ID, the name you choose and, if you allow it, the amount due. Your customer scans it with their own UPI app and pays you directly. Washbay does not process, see or store payment credentials.
Sharing bills
When you share a bill by WhatsApp, SMS or the share sheet, you choose who receives it. Washbay only prepares the text; it contains no links back to us.
Support emails
“Report a bug” and “Suggest a feature” open your own Mail app with the app version, iOS version and device model filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send the email.
Children
Washbay is a business tool and is not directed at children.
Keeping and deleting data
Your data stays until you delete it. Deleting the app removes data stored on that device. To remove synced data, turn off iCloud sync and delete Washbay's data in iPhone Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
Your customers' data
You are responsible for collecting your customers' and staff's details lawfully and only using them to serve them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
